Community Involvement

Since first opening its doors in 1918, EMS has sought to be a good neighbor in the City of Bridgeport.

Over the years, we have been involved in numerous projects and campaigns that benefit the city and surrounding area. We are currently involved with the Pet Awareness & Adoption Program with Bridgeport’s Beardsley Park Zoo.

One of the Beardsley Zoo’s yearly projects is its annual Pet Awareness and Adoption Day on May 14 from noon to 3 pm. Activities include presentations on pet care and safety, crafts for the kids and other surprises. Pets are also available for adoption at the event. Participating animal organizations are Bridgeport and Stratford Animal Control, North Shore Animal League, Bully Breed Rescue, Best Friends Pet Care, Pups Without Partners (Greyhound Rescue), Pet Therapy Dogs, Trumbull Animal Group, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, and many more.
